I was honored to show two works with Cheeky Launchpad as part of the 2025 London Design Festival. Both pieces explore themes central to my practice: domesticity, longing, and the quietly complicated ways women navigate identity and performance.
Captivity is a self-portrait staged in curlers and a nightgown; equal parts fiction and reflection. Standing alone in dim light, the figure gazes out from a domestic space that may be either sanctuary or cage. The image doesn’t decide. It asks instead: what do we trade for safety? What parts of ourselves become suspended, softened, or erased in the pursuit of comfort?
This Is 28 is an installation about longing, contradiction, and the overwhelm of possibility. At its center sits a reupholstered pink faux-fur chair—a stand-in for my body—surrounded by sheer curtains stenciled with a transcribed monologue I once recorded alone in my apartment. I spoke into my phone about everything I wanted at once: love and freedom, a baby and a Negroni.
Both works are portraits of women caught between roles and desires—not lost, but vividly alive in the in-between.
