Key to the City
A guest program that turned the Monarch Motel into a gateway to Moscow: guests carried a literal vintage key to unlock offers at independent businesses around town.

Moscow is a college town, and many motel guests arrive for one event weekend without seeing much beyond campus. Key to the City encouraged them to explore on foot while positioning the Monarch as a host with genuine local knowledge.
I sourced more than fifty vintage keys, developed the motel-style metal tag, visited potential partners in person, and built three points of entry into the experience: the arrival text, the in-room display, and the guest book. The result joined physical design, digital information, and local hospitality in one simple ritual.
